Is Jesus God?
Many churches teach that Jesus is God, but is this Biblical?
Let's look into the scriptures for the answer.
Trinitarians proclaim that it is God speaking in (Rev 3:12).  Jehovah's Witnesses challenge that theological error and proclaim the one speaking here is none other than Jesus Christ himself!

"The one that conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will by no means go out [from it] anymore, and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my God, and that new name of mine." (Rev 3:12)

Forget what Religion teaches and think for yourself. "Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good." (Romans 12:21)

We see those who conquer evil with good are given a reward.  But notice how the person uses the phrases, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my God, and that new name of mine.

To continue to claim the one speaking is God, is to commit a disastrous and dangerous theological error.  Would God say, "I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God"?  So whom is the person speaking?

When a man came to Jesus asking what must he do to have eternal life, notice the response from Jesus. "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:" (Matthew 19:16-17)

Other scripture that can add understanding to the question: Is Jesus God?

"Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’" (John 20:17)

Psalms Chapter 22 is a Prophecy speaking about how the Messiah would be put to death.  "My God, my God, why have you left me?" (Psalms 22:1)  Who is speaking here?  "About the ninth hour Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying: “E´li, E´li, la´ma sa·bach·tha´ni?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)

Notice the arrangement of these two scriptures: "So he has become better than the angels, to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs." (Hebrews 1:4)  "You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with [the] oil of exultation more than your partners." (Hebrews 1:9)

To claim Jesus is God, you would have to change scripture.  Hebrews 1:4 would have to read: "God has become better than the angels, to the extent that God has inherited a name more excellent than theirs."  How can that be? Of course, over Two Billion people believe this deceptive and dangerous mistranslation.  Again,
who is Hebrews 1:9 talking about?  If Jesus is God, then who is exalting God? Rather, isn't it Jehovah exalting his only begotten Son above the angels?

To claim Jesus is God is to reject the "ransom sacrifice" of Jesus Christ.   Remember the basis for salvation? " For if you publicly declare that ‘word in your own mouth,’ that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)  To reject this scripture is to forfeit your very life to everlasting destruction.  Any thing else is from Satan.  Jesus is Lord not God.

"For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him." (1 Corinthians 8:5-6)

So who is Jesus?  "He said to them: “YOU, though, who do YOU say I am?”   In answer Simon Peter said: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:15-16)  Jesus Christ is the Angel of God's Presence, is he not?
